When pruning tomato and pepper plants paint copper on the prune scar to stop disease entering the plant through the prune scar.
Sterilize knives/scissors from one plant to the next when pruning /cutting off diseased leaves etc (In particular tomatoes, peppers, courgettes etc) so as to avoid disease and virus carry over from one plant to the next. For sterilization you can use milk or any chlorine based product.
Keep dirt off lettuce and cabbage leaves when growing by spreading a 1-2 inch layer of mulch (untreated by pesticides or fertilizers) around each plant.
Plant in a sunny location. Vegetables need 6hrs of direct sunlight per day. The more the sunlight they receive, the greater the harvest and the better the taste.
